LIC operating profit

 LIC has been market leader in Life Insurance for decades and still holds ~50% market share. Despite being 100 billion $ company, operating profits are struggling to be positive many quarters. Other incomes can be easily consumed by the inefficiencies in next 4 to 5 years. Unless they work like how other private players are improving, LIC can soon be what's BSNL today.

818 Listed companies results so far are indicating a dismal GDP numbers.  $300billion worth quarterly results have grown at only 4% . The annualized number is $1.2 trillion which is ~30% GDP, grown at less than 4%.  Profits are little convincing this time with 10.27% growth so far. It was 4.4% during last quarter which was a major reason for market to bleed.  Appears few actions on costs are already taken in previous quarter right after dismal results of Q3 2024. Cutting down the branches, if not the entire tree well ahead of reach and water spray around those spots could be even more fruitful.

SCM and Production facility

In a world where decentralization of few production facilities are not viable, lot of care should be taken on what's the best SCM model to be used for production. This data has to be fed back to the manufacturers of B2B machine makers and so on such that, they also optimize what's in best interest of what can be put into a container. Observed an instance where a product was produced with a width of 1300mm, which would be standing in a container. Compared to a 1000mm production part, 1300mm production part would add lot of meaning to the production capacity by 30% with little more space and other utilities. However containers are standardized at 8.5' and high cube 9.5' and likely to remain this way. Therefore the machine producing any part that are extensively shipped throughout the world through containers, should be optimized.  I'm sure we join together to optimize many such products and optimize the resources.
